Mozilla Firefox 184.108.40.206 Fixes Windows Media Player Regression
Wednesday August 2nd, 2006
Mozilla Firefox 220.127.116.11 is now available for download. Hot on the heels of last week's Firefox 18.104.22.168 release, this update fixes a Windows Media Player plugin regression introduced in version 22.214.171.124. Firefox 126.96.36.199 included a fix for bug 181860, which unintentionally blocked the Microsoft Media Services (MMS) protocol used by some Windows Media content. This regression was reported as bug 346167 after the release of 188.8.131.52 and led to today's rapid release of 184.108.40.206. We understand that there are no other major changes in Firefox 220.127.116.11 and no new security bugs have been fixed. According to the Mozilla Developer News weblog post about Firefox 18.104.22.168, users will be offered the upgrade through the Firefox software update system over the next twenty-four to forty-eight hours. However, the impatient can download the release now from the Mozilla Firefox product page. See the Mozilla Firefox 22.214.171.124 Release Notes for more information.

When you import or upgrade your cookies using 188.8.131.52 it prepends a period '.' to each and every cookie in the cookies.txt file. This is a bug in Firefox 184.108.40.206 that did not exist in 220.127.116.11.
This causes every cookie to duplicate automatically each time Firefox actually uses the cookie by visiting the corresponding site that created the cookie.
This was reported by customers using our product with Firefox 18.104.22.168.
