Mozilla Firefox 188.8.131.52 Fixes Windows Media Player Regression
Wednesday August 2nd, 2006
Mozilla Firefox 184.108.40.206 is now available for download. Hot on the heels of last week's Firefox 220.127.116.11 release, this update fixes a Windows Media Player plugin regression introduced in version 18.104.22.168. Firefox 22.214.171.124 included a fix for bug 181860, which unintentionally blocked the Microsoft Media Services (MMS) protocol used by some Windows Media content. This regression was reported as bug 346167 after the release of 126.96.36.199 and led to today's rapid release of 188.8.131.52. We understand that there are no other major changes in Firefox 184.108.40.206 and no new security bugs have been fixed. According to the Mozilla Developer News weblog post about Firefox 220.127.116.11, users will be offered the upgrade through the Firefox software update system over the next twenty-four to forty-eight hours. However, the impatient can download the release now from the Mozilla Firefox product page. See the Mozilla Firefox 18.104.22.168 Release Notes for more information.

Updating to 22.214.171.124 from 126.96.36.199 gave me the same problem that I previously encountered with the update to .5 from .4: Talkback was disabled.
Same workaround that corrected the error in .5 also worked this time: Deleting the extensions.* files in the profile.
