Mozilla Firefox 18.104.22.168 Fixes Windows Media Player Regression
Wednesday August 2nd, 2006
Mozilla Firefox 22.214.171.124 is now available for download. Hot on the heels of last week's Firefox 126.96.36.199 release, this update fixes a Windows Media Player plugin regression introduced in version 188.8.131.52. Firefox 184.108.40.206 included a fix for bug 181860, which unintentionally blocked the Microsoft Media Services (MMS) protocol used by some Windows Media content. This regression was reported as bug 346167 after the release of 220.127.116.11 and led to today's rapid release of 18.104.22.168. We understand that there are no other major changes in Firefox 22.214.171.124 and no new security bugs have been fixed. According to the Mozilla Developer News weblog post about Firefox 126.96.36.199, users will be offered the upgrade through the Firefox software update system over the next twenty-four to forty-eight hours. However, the impatient can download the release now from the Mozilla Firefox product page. See the Mozilla Firefox 188.8.131.52 Release Notes for more information.

whimboo, of course it's not your fault that no-one has found it, we should have found that bug, regardless in what component it was filed in. But there was a greater change it was found if it was filed in the right component. Often finding a regression window can be very useful. You'll be able to pinpoint which patch caused the bug and you can cc the developer who made the patch.
