New Bugzilla Helper Assists with Bug Reporting

Sunday February 6th, 2000

Christine Begle of mozilla.org has created a "Bugzilla Helper" page that can guide you through the process of reporting a bug to Bugzilla. If you have been intimidated by the Bugzilla forms, then this might just be the thing you need. It takes you step-by-step through the process, from creating a Bugzilla account to searching for pre-existing bugs to entering your bug report. All fields are explained, and Christine also makes it easy to determine the proper "component" to file the bug against, by letting you compare your bug against the bugs associated with each component. This is definitely worth checking out if you are interested in taking a more active role in the Mozilla process. And remember, if you have any questions, stop by the #mozillazine channel at irc.mozilla.org (you can use our Java chat client on our chat page if you don't have an IRC client).

If you find difficulties or bugs when using the tool, don't forget to send feedback to Christine Begle (mailto link at top of Bugzilla Helper page). If you have any ideas about how to make searching Bugzilla or reporting new bugs easier or more accurate please visit netscape.public.mozilla.qa.general newsgroup and post, stop in to #mozillazine on IRC, or mail me directly at asadotzler@netscape.net
