Mac Development Moving to CodeWarrior 5

Tuesday February 1st, 2000

Scott Collins writes in with news important to all Mac Mozilla developers. Scott writes, "We are planning on upgrading the Mac development environment to CodeWarrior Pro 5 with the current publicly released patches (5.3). This is a big deal that the Mac community has been clamoring for for some time. However, it will be a major hiccup in our local development. All developers will need to upgrade their environment at the same time. Our plan is to make the switch on or about Monday 7 February 2000.

The bug # we are using to track this is 25949

Mike Pinkerton recently posted to n.p.m.mac on the subject."

If you have any questions, I would suggest posting them to the n.p.m.mac newsgroup.

will the change mean anything as far as more efficient/better/faster/smaller/etc. binaries? (Ie, what are the differences between cw 4/5 as far as the end-product goes)

Just wondering. I haven't used code warrior since like '95.

I think CodeWarrior 5 has a better optomizing compiler, and it's also better suited for Carbon. (I might be wrong; I'm an OpenStep developer. ;)
