The log of the developer chat with Dave Hyatt yesterday is now online. The chat was very informative, and Dave was able to update us on the status of Mozilla customization and what we can expect at beta and release.

but I still prefer the Pete/Jeff look to the NetCenter one by far.

I have a feeling UI forking is inevitable...

Yes, I'm quite surprised that something visually this good came out of MS, their Mac division seems to operate with a mind of its own.

(wishing that he can design a kick ass UI, but wants to wait for XUL to stablize first)

Surprised, I mean. A goodly number of Microsoft's Mac team are actually Apple software engineers. I chalk the fact that IE 5.0 looks pretty good up to the fact that these engineers probably wouldn't let anyone mess with the MacOS's GUI conventions.

Now, Tasman I withhold judgment on.... And if it IS as good as they say, it doesn't mean IE for Windows will adopt it anytime soon. :)
