BugDay - Browser Bug PrescreeningMonday January 3rd, 2000Tomorrow, there will be QA people from Mozilla.org on hand to help with bug prescreening of browser bugs. What's bug prescreening? Many bugs come in that are not necessarily relevant to Mozilla, or are not valid bugs, and prescreening to weed out the invalid ones can save some developer's time so he or she can focus on fixing the real bugs. You can read more about bug prescreening at mozilla.org. Show up tomorrow for BugDay at #mozillazine on irc.mozilla.org to help with bug prescreening, or any other bug-related work you'd like to do. There will be QA people there from 3:00-4:00pm PST if you have any questions for them, and other bug-reporters there throughout the night to help you out. Right now there are two main ways of deleting bugs: marking as "invalid," or marking as "duplicate." Both of these methods seem to leave the bugs in the system, however. Is there any way to just clean out a bug entirely, like the one mentioned above? You probably could if you had admin access to the machine. But I don't think it's a good idea. Deleting bugs would be an irreversible action. These bugs are useful if only to show what not to do. Although We'll have netscape quality assurance team members at today's BugDay (and it looks like future BugDays as well) to answer these kinds of questions. I suspect that MattT' answer is right on the money though. I don't think it wouldn't make sense to remove bugs completely. If you're new to the process please ask lots of questions at BugDay and if you're a veteran of the process please take some time to answer questions. Testing and feedback are key ways to move this project forward so come over to BugDay and be a part of making Mozilla better. Asa (posted with a mozilla 2000 build) Just looking at asa's post made me think of something. Does you (chrisn) have an stats for MozillaZine? I mean just browser-percentage one. Obviously it wouldn't be particularly useful, but I think it could be quite interesting. Posting in M12 Build NO. there is no way to delete a bug once in the system. the bets we can do is get it off the radar by Verifying it. |
