BugAThon News

Tuesday December 21st, 1999

Eric Krock writes in with some news on the BugAThon.

"Some updates on the BugAThon:

1) Help publicize the BugAThon. Add this ad banner to your web site! (Thanks to Glenn Davis for the GIF!)

2) Learn how to handle INVALID bug reports caused by use of LAYER, ILAYER, document.layers[], and/or document.all() in a web page. By helping to keep Vidur's bug list clear, you can help Vidur focus on real W3C DOM and [4.xP] bugs!

3) The query links have been revised so that unrelated codes in the Status Whiteboard field such as [PDT+] won't cause bugs to drop off the list of BugAThon candidates. (Previously, only bugs with a blank Status Whiteboard field showed up in the lists.)

4) A summary of the codes used for the BugAThon has been added."

The Gecko layout engine in Mozilla includes full support for the W3C DOM Level 1 and support for features of the W3C DOM Level 2 such as the event model and the CSS interface. For links to the specs, see my personal FAQ:

As for documenting precisely which features of which specifications Mozilla/Gecko support, watch this space for info about the upcoming Mozilla Open Source Documentation Project.
