Nightly 01/06/2003 - some new bugs

Post by jeti »

Hi!

I'm using the 01/06/2003 nightly on Win2k, and am
experiencing some new bugs.

1. Clicking outside a menu doesn't close the menu.
The only way to close a menu is to click on an item.

2. XPI archives not handled correctly.
When clicking the link to a XPI archive, I get a regular
"Save File"-dialog. Install scripts are not started.

3. Open with Phoenix hangs Phoenix (probably not new).
In a "Save File"-dialog, checking "Open With" and selecting
Phoenix, causes Phoenix to hang.

Well - I think I'll take time to visit BugZilla.

Ciao, Jens

This indeed seems like a new problem. The 20030101 nightly works for me, but the 20030106 doesn't. I need to click on an item or click outside the Phoenix window in order to close a menu.

Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.3a) Gecko/20030106 Phoenix/0.5

CentOS 4.8 (kernel 2.6.9-78.0.22.ELsmp) / KDE 3.5.10
Mac OS X 10.6.1 (Snow Leopard) / iPhone 3GS (32GB black)

I just had a look at BugZilla.

Blake already filed a bug about the menu.
And trouble with installing XPIs has been
going on for something like a week.

PS: Is anyone else experiencing problems with cookies?
With the current nightly, I don't get automatically logged in
on pages like slashdot.

And yes, I did create a new profile and it allows the web
server to store cookies.

Someone brought that up already. It's probably having an issue trying to be recursive. If it didn't know to open it with Phoenix in the first place, why would it know when you force it?

On Mdk 8.1 Linux
#1 and #3 work as expected.
though
#2 exhibits the same problem:
Install script doesn't start when opened from local drive,
though it does if use Install on a web page.

Works on RedHat 8.0 as well. Given that I can reproduce the problem using XP, this must be a Windows-specific issue.

Has anyone tried this with the latest Moz build?

Concerning problem #1 this is a Mozilla problem and has been "introduced" by a fix for

http://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=179567

Now this fix has been backed out - so _this_ specific problem should be gone - but the original problem described in bug #179567 might be there again... :(
