Phoenix goes into a loop when visiting

Post by srinathava »

with javascipt enabled. Phoenix keeps opening windows till the computer runs out of memory and I get a BSOD from my XP box!

I am using:

Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.3a) Gecko/20021207 Phoenix/0.5

Thanks,

Srinath

Did you try upgrading your Phoenix to the nightly build?

Whoa. Serious problem. I have TBE installed with single-window mode turned on and it still started spawning new windows. I started killing the new ones before they replicated too many times and it stopped.

Let me try with Mozilla.

Edit: This is broken in Mozilla too. I'm gonna file a bug.

i take that back. i'm having a similar problem. it's not spawning new *windows* for me, bue it keeps refreshing the current one i have.

this is why:
// Makes "new window" pages open in current window/tab
user_pref("browser.block.target_new_window", true);

i just thought i'd bring that up in case anyone else has this in their user.js file. it's gotta be the same thing. *tg* i didn't have all the new windows or i would have taken a bat to my computer or something. lol.

that's a nasty bug.

Great find!

I can confirm this with build 2002-12-28 on Win XP.

If this happens to you, hit ctrl-alt-delete and kill phoenix from there.

Would a few of you mind posting to the bug on Bugzilla to confirm the problem?

Must be a Windows-specific issue. WFM with the Linux version [Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; en-US; rv:1.3a) Gecko/20021225 Phoenix/0.5].
