September 2001 Build Comments Below we have comments regarding the latest daily builds from #mozillazine participants. Click here to check out last month's build comments September 28, 2001: Lots of good stuff in today's builds. View source and inline image view for IMAP messages are working again with the fix to bug 102002. The GTK port is now supporting CSS system fonts with the fixes for bug 33313. Tabbed browsing gets a few more fixes (and will hopefully stay enabled) for bugs 102060, 102066 and 101487 (we have a new Bugzilla component for these bugs, please file your issues in the correct place). A long awaited HTML Form bug fix has landed (99920). An installer crash (97249), a couple of plug-in topcrashes (85701 and 99569), a Find topcrash (101710), and a printing crash were all fixed. P3P cookie management features landed with bug 98882 and a major landing happened for Fonts that is just too much to explain here (see bug 99010). A lot new in the builds. Help us shake out any new problems. Today's build directories: linux, mac, win32 September 27, 2001: The big excitement in today's build in column reordering (see bug 101775 ). You can now reorder the columns in your mail threadpane. I don't think it has been hooked up in other outliners yet (like history and bookmarks) but hopefully soon. A crash in the new Tabbed Browsing feature, bug 101554 , was also fixed. Bug 94794 , the mac splitter alignment problem was fixed and context menus for view source (bug 39389 ) were implemented. Good builds with some cool new stuff. If you haven't gotten a build in a while, today's probably a good one to grab. Today's build directories: linux, mac, win32 September 26, 2001: For those of you that work with XUL alot, you'll probably like the changes that landed with bug 93519 and a topcrash fix for 95489 is always welcome. Today's build directories: linux, mac, win32 September 25, 2001: Not a lot new today. A nice fix for mail landed with the ability to create a new folder in a POP mail Inbox. This was a fix for bug 52460. Today's build directories: linux, mac, win32 September 24, 2001: If you didn't notice over the weekend you should grab today's builds and press CTRL+T (the temporary initialization of the new tabs toolbar). Dave Hyatt implemented and landed a generic browser tabbing widget (bug 100706) for the Mozilla code base which in it's first incarnation gives multizilla-like tabs for the browser. There are sure to be lots of bugs since this is new code but it's also pretty high profile so query before reporting bugs. We also have a couple of nice performance improvements. The first is Find performance fix from bug 31770. Some tests show that find in page operations that used to take as much as 4 minutes are now closer to 10 seconds. My tests on mosts pages confirm this massive speedup. It just feels lightning fast on any pages I tested. I also found that sometime in the recent past something changes which fixes the horrible freeze loading long buglists. This is bug 77460. Good builds. Get them and give 'em a testdrive. Today's build directories: linux, mac, win32 September 21, 2001: The morning builds had a problem with Java that resulted in bug 100702. That was fixed and the fix is in for the builds I've linked to. A table printing bug 92215 was fixed and turbo is FAST again! Changes landed for bug 99387 which brings turbo performance back to what it was before the slowdown. Give it a try. Today's build directories: linux, mac, win32 September 20, 2001: One change of note landed. Bug 65486 implements a new DOM API (I think this mirrors IE's document.contentWindow property). Builds are good. Today's build directories: linux, mac, win32 September 19, 2001: A number of large fixes landed. First, for XUL hackers, bug 99876 covers the latest syntax change moving from spring to spacer. Chrome tabbing bug 64052 was fixed. Turbo/Quick Launch got a stability fix with landings for bug 88844. Maybe of interest to web developers are fixes for bugs 37470, 59035, 98109, and 49874. People have had great things to say about today's builds so grab one and give it a run. Today's build directories: linux, mac, win32 September 18, 2001: UI for simple MAPI support landed with checkins to bug 95122. Some nice crash fixes landed for bugs 99690 and 99057. A plugin printing implementation landed for bug 27478 and a Mac image perf fix landed for bug 86694. Today's build directories: linux, mac, win32 September 17, 2001: A startup peroformance change landed for bug 97528 and a mail message compose performance fix landed for bug 99393. I've seen and heard others commenting an observable increase in startup speed. The builds seem OK to me with no obvious changes. Today's build directories: linux, mac, win32 September 14, 2001: One checkin you might notice is for bug 99222. Not a lot that's new besides that. We're releasing Mozilla 0.9.4 today and could really use help screening the incoming bugs. The numbers always spike at releases and a lot of bugs in 0.9.4 have already been fixed on the trunk (363 to be exact) so if you have some time and a current nightly build we could use your help in resolving incoming Duplicate and Worksforme bugs. Thanks. Today's build directories: linux, mac, win32 September 13, 2001: Early windows builds today suffered from a bug that made it so that new windows coundn't be created. This bug, 99453, was fixed and the builds I've linked to should not have the problem. A few cool things were checked in like the implementation of wrapping in view source (thanks doron! bug 22022) and 'copy link location' for imagemaps and link element (bug 78021). SOCKS support has been extended to handle more protocols than just http and https with checkins for bug 89500. We also get a few nice fixes for offline mail with checkins for bugs 96335, 84260, and 91352. Decent builds. Today's build directories: linux, mac, win32 September 12, 2001: If you've been seeing cookie problems in recent windows builds it was probably bug 99286 which was fixed this morning but not before today's builds. The fix involved disabling some -turbo code and reimplementing that bit is covered by bug 99371. In a related story, a quitting from Composer in -turbo bug (99318) was fixed. Not a very active day for development with all the chaos here in the US. Today's build directories: linux, mac, win32 September 11, 2001: Lots to tell you about today. Mac finally gets a fix to the classic theme taskbar with timeless' checkin to bug 85543. Windows gets a turbo/quick launch cleanup from blake and others with checkins for bugs 88844, 89532, 97338, 98770, and 98805. There were a pair of topcrash fixes checked in, one for browser bug 97226 and mailnews bug 90253. We also have a more descriptive defualt userChrome.css file with the checkins for bug 74759. Blaked fixed the new addressbook sidear tab so that it no longer locks up when you scroll the tree (bug 99121. Open web location got some cleanup from hwaara's checkins to bug 94836. An initial implementation for DOM3 Core namespace methods landed for bug 98815 and message compose autocomplete bug 88315. Lot's new in this build for your testing pleasure. Grab it and make sure all these new bits are behaving. Today's build directories: linux, mac, win32 September 10, 2001: Lots of great fixes since last update. There is a new x-remote implementation in the tree (see bugs Today's build directories: linux, mac, win32 September 7, 2001: A couple of crashers including a topcrasher and lots of code cleanup happened since yesterday. Nothing new and exciting in the way of features but a couple of quicks mode fixes landed so a few legacy webpages should display better. Today's build directories: linux, mac, win32 September 6, 2001: The link underline bug 98358 is fixes. Some new images for Modern theme landed with checkins for bugs 88970 and 92429. Unix landscape printing has been implemented with the fixes for bug 24847. And the What's Related privacy bug 53239 was fixed. In addition a few performance checkins happened this week too. Today's build directories: linux, mac, win32 September 4, 2001: New icons in mail autocomplete tell you the source of the autocomplete (bug 92135, see bug for additional prefs for this feature).
